Biking with Kids
My family is prepping for a big life change right now – this month we are moving into our RV to start a full-time RV adventure. One thing we are excited about doing on this year-long trip is biking with kids.
Mountain Dad has plotted a route around the USA and Canada that hits cool downhill biking areas he wants to ride with Big E and me. So it’s perfect that Mountain Mom and Tots patrons chose Plan a Family Bike Ride for the September outdoor challenge.
And you know what’s even better? This month’s biking prize! You’re gonna love it.
Your challenge for September 2018 is to:
Up Your Family Biking Game
Every family is at a different level when it comes to biking. Maybe you’re a big biking fam and you ride every day, rain or shine. Then again, maybe you’re the kind of person asking yourself –What’s a bike again?
Whatever your family’s current biking level is, I want you to take it to the next level with this month’s challenge. Here are some ideas:
- Dig your bikes out of the garage and fix that three-month-old flat tire.
- Borrow, rent or buy a bike trailer and go biking with your kids for the first time.
- Help your toddler try out a balance bike.
- Teach your kids how to change a flat tire or learn how yourself.
- Bike a trail that’s new to you.
- Try mountain biking.
- Participate in a bike race.
- Bike instead of drive to school, or work, or the library, or coffee shop.
- Build a bike jump in your backyard.
Wherever your biking with kids level is right now, your September 2018 outdoor challenge is to take it to the next level.

Burley Bee Biking With Kids Challenge Prize
You are so going to love this month’s prize! If you complete the Biking with Kids challenge and sign up as a $3 per month Mountain Mom and Tots patron you’ll be eligible to win…
This bike trailer is high quality, seats two kids AND gear and is the perfect tool to help families explore outdoors on two wheels.
My family has been Burley bike trailer fans for almost a decade – before Mountain Mom and Tots even existed. When Big E was just a baby we bought a Burley Bee bike trailer and it allowed us to explore more outdoors as a family.
In 2015 Burley sent me the Burley D’Lite – their higher end model that works with the We! Ski Kit attachment for cross country skiing. We love using our Burley trailer all year long. In fact I love it so much I requested to be an affiliate for Burley. It makes sense – their kids bike trailers are the best out there.
What’s so awesome about the Burley Bee bike trailer?
- Compact fold flattens the trailer for easy storage and transportation
- 20 inch push button wheels make set up and take down quick
- UV protection windows are rated UPF 30 and block 96-97.4% of UV light
- Designed and tested to meet or exceed ASTM F1975-09 safety standards
- This is Burley’s 40th anniversary year. They championed safety standards before it was even a thang.
Want a chance to win? It all starts with signing up for the Biking with Kids 2018 Outdoor challenge in this box right here:
Psst…If you purchase something after clicking the affiliate links above I get a small commission at no extra cost to you.
